History: Founded in June 2012, Portugal Ventures is the result of the merger of the three state-backed Venture Capital & Private Equity firms:
AICEP Capital Global (ACG), founded in 1988. ACG focused on Private Equity investments, namely in the consolidation, internationalisation and turnaround of companies. At the time of the merger it had about €113 million in funds under management and a portfolio of about 25 companies;
InovCapital (IC), founded in 1989. IC focused mainly on Venture Capital investments, especially in innovative companies in a diversified range of technologies and industrial sectors. At the time of the merger it had about €260 million in funds under management and a portfolio of about 120 companies;
and Turismo Capital (TC), founded in 1991. TC focused on investments in companies operating in the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure industry. At the time of the merger it had about €96 million in funds under management and a portfolio of about 30 companies.
As a result of the merger, Portugal Ventures has an accumulated experience of over 20 years in supporting the development of more than 250 Portuguese companies at all stages of investment, leading them to growth, profitable trade-sales and IPOs.
