Portugal Ventures manages several funds for investment in sector specific industries, such as life sciences, energy and energy efficiency, creative industries and other funds that can only be invested in specific regions (Azores, North of Portugal and Galicia/Spain).

Such investment funds complement other investment vehicles also managed by Portugal Ventures. Preference is given to investment projects which are syndicated by other venture capitalists and/or angel investors.

Some of the funds managed by Portugal Ventures are backed by the European Union through FINOVA/COMPETE, such as the Biocant Fund and Creative Industries Fund.

The FIAEA - Investment Fund to Support the Entrepreneurship of the Azores is a Fund which was constituted and is managed in partnership with APIA – the Agency which promotes investment in the Azores.
