Beja, 5 February 2013 - José Franca, Chairman and CEO of Portugal Ventures, participated in EDIA’s session on the topic “Solutions for the Financing of Agriculture Projects in the Alqueva Region.” His presentation was dedicated to demonstrating the financing instruments available for supporting the development of the Portuguese economy, and also its Venture Capital and Innovation activity. At the session, which took place at EDIA’s auditorium in Beja, Portugal, on 5th February, EDIA also signed financing protocols with several banking institutions.
EDIA is the entity responsible for promoting the Alqueva region, an area mainly located in the Alentejo (south of Portugal) which has its area divided into 4 districts: Beja, Évora, Setúbal and Portalegre. It's known for its natural resources, and includes one of the biggest dams in Portugal. The region has a lot of infrastructures created for its development; namely investments in the agriculture, energy and tourism sectors.
